This count provides a snapshot of the homelessness experience in Medicine Hat and in other communities across the country.

During a 24-hour period, a Street Count was conducted in various zones throughout the city, as well as an Administrative Count at The Mustard Seed Shelter, Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society, Roots Youth Shelter, Miywasin Friendship Centre, LYNX House, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, and the Medicine Hat Recovery Centre.

The 2024 PiT Count recorded a total of 104 individuals experiencing homelessness in Medicine Hat on October 10.
