In October 2025, the Medicine Hat community came together for the 2025 PiT Count, conducted over a 24-hour period beginning October 22.
More than 40 volunteers supported the Count by canvassing streets, shelters, and less visible areas across the city to identify individuals experiencing homelessness. The 2025 Count included a street count, an administrative count, and a survey component.
On the night of the Count, 136 individuals were identified as experiencing homelessness in Medicine Hat.
The Report on Homelessness: Medicine Hat Point-in-Time Count, is a comprehensive look at the data, insights, and lessons learned from the 2025 PiT Count.
